My obsession....MSU sports and especially Football (SBW 2010)

This year's Super Bulldog Weekend was once again a huge success.  I started the weekend off by riding to Starkville with Mel.  We met up with Amanda and Ashley and walked to Sushi Martini.  We had a great time eating sushi, drinking martini's, listening to great music and catching up with friends.  After Sushi Martini, we decided to take a long stroll down to Mugshots.  If you know me at all, you know that I'm not the biggest fan of this place.  Mainly because I feel really old and out of place when I'm there.  Lots of people I knew were there, both my age and older and even 8 years younger than me (the reason I don't like going.)  It was a fairly early night that ended in me and Amanda walking to the infamous
Papa John's for late night pizza grubbing (gross!)
We woke up early the next morning and got ready to meet friends at the Grill (my fav!)  Melissa decided to join friends in the Cotton District for the Arts Festival and we went to the Grill to eat lunch with LC, Margaret, Georgia and Christi.  Oh, and Kolby came with us too (bless his heart, he was the only male.)  After we ate, we went to Dudy Noble to take in some baseball.  The weather was perfect and we beat Tennessee!  The best part of the day: FOOTBALL time!  We packed our coolers and headed to the stadium.  Kolby and I met up with the Hutto's, Andy Ryder and the Menetre's.  We decided to sit at the very top of the stadium which ended up being cool because we could see everything and were free to do as we pleased.  Here are some fun pics from the Spring game.

Me and the Menetre's aka the Family
Our normal and infamous pose: mom and dad looking at me with "those eyes"
Once we left the game, we walked to the Cotton District to hang out at Blake's until we decided our next step.  Jon Mark and his new wife, Lindsey came over and we decided to go back to Sushi Martini.  The Menetre's and Hearnsberger's came and met us so we had a rather large crew take over the restaurant and couches.  After the restaurant, everyone pretty much went home but me, Kolby, Grace and Bailey.  We had great bonding time and so much fun!!  Here are more pics from the night:

What a Life!!!

I have a child whose name is Bella.  She is just like a human and is my best friend, the best nurse and saving grace.  When I'm down or don't feel well, I have her there right by my side to cheer me up.  When I found her, I decided her name was going to be Emma after her aunt Emily and Bella because I liked the name aka Emma Bella.  Ever since she entered my life, she has adopted the names: Bunkins, B, Miss B, Bella Boo, Bella Bop or Bop, Boo, Boo Boo Head or Bump.  The funny thing about it is that she knows all of these names belong to her.  I could not imagine life without my Bella Boo and I don't know if she can imagine life without me.
Oh the life of a dog aka my child

St. Patty's Day Parade... one of the BEST days in Jackson!

I know that I'm getting older in age; however, not too old to still have fun on one of the most fun days in Jackson, MS....Hal and Mal's St. Patty's Day parade.  As I said, I know that I'm getting older; therefore, I knew that I would need an adequate amount of rest the night before the big event.  I kept my word and went to bed early, got up early that Sat. morning and went to Melissa's house for some breakfast pre-game.  We ate and drank mimosa's and got ready for the day long event.  Me, Amanda and Ashley decided not to ride on a float so we met up with Carmen, Dea, Clare and others and then found the rest of the crew post parade to round out the day and night.  These are some pics during and after the parade.....until next year!
The GRAND MARSHALL....Kermit the Frog!  Theme of the parade: It Ain't Easy Being Green!

Old Waverly, Cottages, a Wedding, Reception Rave & WILD Late Night

Carolyn Hartlein has been a special person in my life for the past seven years.  I was a Junior when she went through rush her freshman year.  Of course, she pledged KD and I couldn't wait to hang out with her (she was a Hartlein and I knew she'd be a ton of fun!)  She started dating Jacob Stubbs who was one of my closest guy friends and best friends with my boyfriend at the time.  So needless to say, we instantly became great friends and very close.  Even though she now lives in Knoxville, I still consider her one of my true and closest friends.  She is so special to me so when she asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, I was beyond honored.  Here are some pics from the EXTRA fun weekend!!  If you know Carolyn, you know that she LOVES to have fun and always makes sure everyone else does too.

Old Waverly....where everything took place for the special weekend.
All of the wedding details.....
Our AWESOME cottage goody basket
The gorgeous flower arrangements on the tables at the rehearsal dinner
Me, Katie, Amanda and Sarah at the rehearsal dinner after party...so much fun!
Cool sushi bridge at the reception
The neatest grooms table: german chocolate cake in the shape of drums sitting on top of kegs along with drumsticks and guitar picks with Carolyn and Scott's crest on them.  Very Scott-like!
And the insanity begins....Dr. Seuss hats, glo-stick necklaces and heart head bobber's come out for all of the guests to wear during the reception. (Me, the bride and Ley dancing to Patrick Smith Band)

Introducing: Mr. and Mrs. Scott Noblitt!!!
Carolyn would not have everyone else having fun without her on her wedding night, so they decided to throw on t-shirts and blue jeans and join us in some cottage late night fun!
Me, Katie and Sarah at "late night" (it was really midnight)
Me and Laura decided we're too old to stay up so late (again, it was midnight)
A Hartlein wedding gift to the groom tradition....a t-shirt blanket made out of all of the bride and groom's Widespread Panic concert t-shirts
So another great wedding to attend, many memories made and another friend to call a Mrs.  Thanks for a great weekend and Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Scott Noblitt.  Sorry I'm a month and a half late!

It snowed in Madison!!!

I apologize for becoming a blog slacker but since I'm in the bed "resting," I have plenty of time to catch up on my blogging.  Sorry but I'm going WAY back.....

It finally snowed in MS this year and Madison got quite a bit.  I must admit I didn't believe Barbie when she said that we would wake up to snow in our front and backyard.
Well....I woke up to find this.....
So I acted like a child, shot out of the bed and got Bella up and ready to go out and play in the snow.  As you can see, she did not like it one bit!
I made a snow-woman and played for awhile.  I must say my snow-woman was quite cute and stylish.
So mine and Miss B's day turned out great and we had a ton of fun (and a day off work!)
Wherever I go.....she follows.....and I LOVE it!

In the bed and plenty of time for updates....

I have not fallen off of the face of the earth, just been a little tied up lately.  Make a long story short, I have not been feeling well lately and had a gallbladder attack on Thursday morning which sent me to Corinth to visit Dr. Phil Mathis.  I had an ultrasound on my gallbladder; however, there were no gallstones.  So...a CT was taken and they found that my gallbladder was functioning at 17%....yes, 17%!  So long story short, you don't have to have gallstones in order to have your gallbladder removed.  I'm now back in Jackson recovering and will have plenty of time to update my blog so for my few readers, get ready for lots of updates!  Hope you had a great weekend....I did!  I feel like a new person even though I'm in miserable pain.
Who knew something so small could cause so much pain?  If you have the symptoms, get rid of it...totally worth it!  And props to the Dr. Mathis aka Phil....he is not only a great family friend, best friend of my dad's and like a 2nd dad but a FABULOUS surgeon and doctor!  I'm all about the docs who get to the point, take care of the problem quickly and have you back home within a couple of hours!!!
